Short Notice Bookings:
Any booking received with less than two weeks' notice will be considered a "Short Notice Booking." More than a Dream reserves the right to charge a $30 surcharge for bookings made and paid for within this timeframe. This surcharge covers additional costs such as last-minute scheduling, performer availability, travel time, and costume preparation. The fee is fixed and will not vary. Payment in full within 24 hours is required to secure short notice bookings. We appreciate your understanding as extra effort goes into creating a magical experience on short notice.
Safety & Responsibilities
More than a Dream is not responsible for accidents, damages, or injuries during your event. Inform us of any allergies to products such as glue or cosmetics, and ensure guests take precautions. The client must chaperone all guests and manage any disruptive behavior or children unwilling to participate. Performers are only responsible for entertainment, while the client is responsible for the safety and well-being of the guests. If a performer feels unsafe, they will notify the host once, and if the issue is not addressed, they will leave with full compensation.
Deposits & Payments:
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required within 3 business days of our initial response email to secure your event. The remaining balance must be paid 2 business days before your event via e-transfer.
Canceling & Rescheduling:
If you need to change your party date, character, or time after booking, we will apply the initial payment to a new date within 60 days, depending on availability. Changes must be made at least 14 days before your event. If changes cannot be accommodated after that time, you will have the option to keep your original booking or cancel the event, in which case your deposit will be forfeited. Cancellations made up to 21 days prior to the event will receive a full refund of the deposit. In case of weather, illness, or emergencies, we may offer an alternative date or provide a full refund if we cancel.
Travel Charges:
For events 20 km or more from Oshawa, a $0.72/km travel fee will apply. We service Durham Region and the surrounding Greater Toronto Area. While we can travel beyond this area upon request, we do not travel more than 60 km from our Oshawa headquarters. No travel fee will apply to events in Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, Scarborough, Courtice, Bowmanville, and Brooklin. Travel fees will apply for other locations, and availability may vary based on our performers.
Outdoor Bookings:
For the best experience, indoor events are highly recommended to protect against weather conditions. We only offer outdoor entertainment from May to September, provided the weather is suitable. Performers require a dry, mud-free area and a shaded space, especially during hot weather. Outdoor events cannot proceed if temperatures exceed 26°C or fall below 18°C. In case of rain or extreme heat, clients must have an indoor alternative ready. We do not perform outdoors under unsafe conditions, and it is the client’s responsibility to make necessary arrangements.
Pets/Animals:
All pets must be contained away from the party area to ensure the safety and comfort of our performers. Our performers visit multiple homes each day, and this helps us avoid allergy-related issues and keeps everyone focused on creating a magical experience. Failure to comply will result in the performer leaving with full compensation. Pet owners are responsible for any damage caused by their pets to the performers' costumes.
Engagement and Exclusive Entertainment:
To ensure the children stay fully engaged, we kindly ask that all other entertainment or distractions, such as food, toys, bouncy castles, or music, be paused during our scheduled time. Our party assistant will remind you if needed. Additionally, no other entertainment, including magicians or face painters, is allowed to be scheduled simultaneously with our characters. This exclusivity allows us to provide a focused, memorable experience for your event.
Food, Drink & Substance Use:
To protect the integrity of our costumes and property, no smoking or food should be present during your event. We kindly ask that children eat before or after the booking time, and any messy or sticky food be kept away. Any damage caused by food or drinks will result in a $100 dry cleaning fee, payable before departure. We are happy to join in singing around the cake during the last 10 minutes of the event, and entertainers will gratefully accept a to-go bag at the end.
Party Size and Additional Fees:
To ensure quality interaction and a stress-free performance, all single-character parties are designed for a maximum of 10 children aged 2-10 years. If the number exceeds this limit, please notify us in advance. If no notice is given, our party assistant will apply an additional $25 per child before the event begins. Please note that last-minute changes may affect the party's duration, so we encourage accurate child estimates.
For parties with more than 10 children, additional character(s) will be required to maintain a 1:10 ratio. Additional characters are subject to availability and may incur extra charges. The performers have the right to adjust activities to ensure the event fits within the scheduled time.

Gratuity:
Gratuity is never required, but always appreciated. Our performers are highly trained professionals dedicated to making your party magical. If you feel our performer has gone above and beyond to create a memorable experience, we welcome any gesture of appreciation, whether it’s a tip or simply a heartfelt thank you. Your recognition helps motivate our team to continue delivering exceptional entertainment with every event!
